Five Lost Friends V2

The new improved version of five lost friends. Waaaay better. and faster.

VERSE 1

Seems she's burned like a cigarette,
Tangled up in the fishing net,
Gone and caught herself again.

She's so tired from fighting this,
fingers wrapped into battle fists,
Lost all energy to stand.

CHORUS

She lost five,
Five of her friends
She doesn't know,
Know as of yet,
She has heard,
she lives in the dark.

X2

VERSE 2

And she'd be tall if she only tried,
Always landing the easy side,
Flip a coin the battle won.

She'd be hurt if she only knew,
What she'd done and who came through,
All her friends wear half a smile.

CHORUS

She lost five,
Five of her friends
She doesn't know,
Know as of yet,
She has heard,
she lives in the dark.

X2

Mental Trap

Progressive Rock Song.
This is the re-make of Progressive ( Demo). Now it has lyrics.

I mixed many styles and influences to make it interesting to listen. You will find all kind rock styles, plus some samba and jazz and some ballad part.

The song is long, but I PROMISE you WON'T get BORED.

Really worked hard to make a good sound quality, considering my sources are just my electric guitar with a multi-effect, my $3 mic and my PC.

Wanna thank to PuppetXeno, Sworfish and TritonKeyboarder who gave some advices to improve the sound of this.

Guess the lyrics and vocals are not my strongest point but I did was I was able to.

Please, listen it till the end. You won't get bored. And use headphones if you have, sounds better that way.

      > Iszil

PS: Here goes lyrics:

Let me take you to a place
Where nothing can harm you
No lines between pain and love

Forget about the fear your feel
Clear your mind and then enjoy
Have the time of your life

Music is the blood that
Runs thru’ your veins
Feel it spreading all over you

Warm rushing in
Overtaking your senses
Your soul comes alive!

Run away
Quickly
Rush away
And don’t return

Life is now
As it was then
But you are alone
You have no friend

When you feel a knife
Is stabbed in your back,
Just relax cause it’s me

Don’t try to run or to hide
Cause you have fallen
Into my mental trap

DON'T FORGET TO VOTE!

Antithesis

Here I am, back again after quite a few months of inactivity. Here's a piece that I admit is not for everyone as it is a bit of an epic progressive rock instrumental. (Hey Samuel remember how you wanted me to do one of these?? Well, here it is!). Seriously though, please let me know what you think.

The inpspiration behind this one really stems from my failed attempt at completing my engineering thesis earlier this year where I experienced many different feelings of anxiety, confusion and hopelessness, all of which I think I have captured here. I kept getting distracted from writing my thesis with this riff and weird rhythm in my head, which of course I just had to sit down and play. Hence, the song (and the title) Antithesis was born.

Rickshaw!

He is thin, but not weak. His clothes are dirty and falling apart, but he doesn't mind. His goal is to get to the destination, by using every steel muscle in his body and he will not rest till he gets there. Nothing can get in his way, there are no obstacles he cannot overcome. There is no heat, cold, rain or a storm that will stop him. He will hit bumpy roads and steep hills, suffering great pain along the way. He will fly down the hills, overcome with joy, only to get ready for the next battle.

His endurance is endless. He is a man-machine. He is the Rickshaw!

Rat Fight (album)

Hey there, this is a song called Rat Fight from my band Midnight Spaghetti & The Chocolate G-Strings off of our album Velour On The Floor. I've posted before, but back then, all I had was live recordings. Got some good feedback, so I thought I'd bring it back with the studio versions. Listen, enjoy, spill your guts, gimme the feedback, y'all!

In case you're interested, this was recorded in our home studio using our own equipment. We engineered and mixed the whole thing, final mastering was done be Vinton Fountain at Nebula Mastering. We used three kinds of mics in the entire recording process, hooked into a Digi 002 and Protools.

LYRICS

I don't feel sympathetic if you took a diuretic
and now you've got to pee
something's in your dome, but you're not at home
this chick is about to OD
elk mating call echo from outside
but it's only kids blowing in horns
she did it at first 'cause she needed the grade
but liked the way the antlers adorned

cab driver with every answer
but too proud to tell anyone
talk radio host late night coast-to-coast
with the find of the millennium
a new theory of time, fix your love life, eliminate accidents
completely confirmed by the evidence
for believers, that is

rat fight in the middle of the night
'cause they didn't know you were there
the high-pitched squeal always gives them away
you can smell by the blood in their hair
so make a dash under the ashtray
or the hole underneath the stair
don't linger for too long
or you might forget why you care

sleeping in the lab just to get the job done
passed out on the floor alone
housekeeping woke me up at 4 AM
I guess that it's time to go home
not quite raining and not quite dry
everything feels soggy and wet
back on track for a little while
but it's too easy to forget

Dear Anonymous,

My favorite song I've written so far probably... the concept of this one is a love letter to a girl the persona feels he about to meet. I used a sort of strange tuning -- the B string is tuned down to an A, which makes for I think some pretty cool open chords -- similar to what Billy Corgan did for Muzzle. The levels in the beginning for the acoustic relative to the vocals are a little low, and the drums we could only record with a single mic, but I still think it came out pretty well. Really meaningful song for me - hope you like.

OutWithABang(Mix#16)

This is my latest addition to the BandAmp collection. I listened to this 'till me ears bled, and decided to dust off the minimoog and pop it in on all of the choruses (except for the first chorus...I wanted to build the song). This was an awesome sound used in a lot of old Genesis/Yes/Cars/etc... tunes. I thought of it the other day. Nobody uses these sounds anymore..I wanted to kind of *bring it back*. I added crunch rhythm guitars (mono) and played the same part twice panning to left and right creating true stereo (also after the first chorus). I cleaned up the bass guitar part and added a little more punch to the drums. Thanks for listening...C
